Find out more about Flexiteek with our answers to some of the most popular questions we get asked about our synthetic decking.
Filter your answers by clicking on the headers below.
- Can Flexiteek be used vertically?
Flexiteek hugs the surface, so it can be used on most angles and contours, both vertically and horizontally.
- Will Flexiteek crush or deform under pressure?
Flexiteek will compress if a fastener is bolted across it. We recommend that anything bolted should be placed on a solid lining such as Tufnol, UPVC, aluminum, etc.
- What if I need a thicker product?
If required, Flexiteek can be supplied on marine plywood, GRP, laminated board or a layer of foam of suitable thickness to allow a perfect fit to an indentation or edge.
- Which adhesive is used for gluing?
We have tested many adhesives and recommend the use of MS polymer or PU2K adhesives, depending on your installation method.
- Can it stick to any surface?
Flexiteek adhesives adhere successfully to most surfaces, provided the substrate is painted. It is often possible to use a two-component epoxy to create a suitable substrate for the application of our adhesives.
- What is a perimeter border?
A border is the frame around the panels; it’s a section that’s normally a little wider than the battens used to define it.
- How is Flexiteek assembled?
Flexiteek is “welded” using vinyl welding techniques to ensure tight, clean joints.
- How Flexiteek compares to its competitors
Flexiteek is the only second-generation synthetic deck on the market, offering a lighter, fresher alternative with a wide range of realistic wood finishes and colors.
- Is it easy to repair?
Flexiteek is very easy to repair using vinyl welding techniques; in extreme cases, planks can be cut out and replaced.
- Is it possible to re-sponge it?
Flexiteek can be sanded by hand using 40-80 grit sandpaper, working in the direction of the grain. The rougher the sandpaper, the deeper the grain.
- How do I clean it?
We recommend using our cleaners which have been fully tested for use with Flexiteek, a pressure washer works well for daily or deep cleaning and a light detergent can help with stubborn stains. You can download the care instructions here .
- What type of maintenance is required?
Flexiteek requires minimal maintenance, occasional cleaning, and if the grain starts to wear, a quick sanding will restore its new look and anti-slip properties.
