Know-how

Flexiteek 3 is made using trusted techniques crafted over many years.

Flexiteek is made in the UK with an attention to detail that sets Flexiteek apart from other decking products, making it the choice of more than 200 boat builders worldwide.

FROM PVC MICROBEADS TO SLATS

Flexiteek is manufactured from virgin polymer pellets.

Sophisticated extrusion and dosing equipment guarantee extreme precision.

This enables Flexiteek to create a unique irregular wood or ribbed appearance, while preserving color consistency.

In-house-designed extrusion dies control the dimensions and shape of the laths.

They are then cooled in a temperature-controlled water bath.

The surface of the covering is then sanded to bring out its grain and texture.

Finally, each roll undergoes final color and quality checks.

FROM BATTENS TO ASSEMBLED PANELS

Flexiteek deck coverings are then manufactured in our workshop near La Rochelle.

Battens are cut and assembled one by one using the thermowelding technique.

Whereas a teak deck is caulked with glue, Flexiteek panels are welded: each joint is either extruded into the batten or welded with a PVC bead during assembly, guaranteeing strength.

Panels are produced in a single piece, allowing the individual parts to be aligned.

If necessary, the edges are then cut and welded together.

Whatever the size of your boat, we can custom-make any type of panel, with a traditional or more contemporary teak design. The Flexiteek decking will fit the surface perfectly.
